Dental Imaging
What is dental imaging?
Dental x-rays are images of your teeth that your dentist uses to evaluate your oral health. These x-rays capture images of the interior of your teeth and gums which your dentist can use to help them in identifying problems, like cavities, tooth decay, and impacted teeth.
Dental X-rays may seem complex, but they’re actually very common tools that are just as important as your teeth cleanings.
Here at Dental Stylers we utilise two different kinds of x-rays, an OPG x-ray captures an image of the whole mouth. This can be used to show cavities and wisdom teeth.
We also use bitewing x-rays, these x-rays help to shows how the crowns of your teeth line up and can identify cavities that are hiding between the contact areas of your teeth which cannot be easily seen.

Types of X-Rays
Despite their technical nature, dental x-rays are indispensable in maintaining optimal oral health. At Dental Stylers, we employ two primary types of x-rays to illuminate the inner workings of your smile:
1. OPG X-Rays: This panoramic imaging captures a comprehensive view of your entire mouth, unveiling insights into cavities, wisdom teeth, and overall oral health.
2. Bitewing X-Rays: These specialized x-rays offer a closer look at the alignment of your tooth crowns, pinpointing hidden cavities nestled between teeth.
